Dr Who: The Planet of the Spiders
July 31, 2013 in Dr Who by Firebird
Despite the dated models this is not one for arachnophobes 🙂
Not only the first Doctor I remember but also the ultimate Companion, Sarah Jane Smith!
Viewers of the modern Doctor Who might find the invisible creepy crawly on her back familiar, and yes it’s a lot like the Time Beetle that messed with Donna’s timeline in ‘Turn Left’.
I’d forgotten what a man of action the 3rd Doctor was. Just check out his karate moves, running around and driving and flying a range of vehicles (seen here in a hovercraft). He was significantly different to those who’d gone before.
Lots and lots of spiders 🙂
We didn’t really seem to get much in the way of properly alien planets during the 3rd Doctor’s run, just from memory it all seemed to involve U.N.I.T. HQ and gravel quarries in Surrey. 🙂
One of the fun things with Doctor Who is spotting the well known actors (over here at least) who appear in it from time to time, in this case Gareth Hunt, Gambit in The New Avengers.
Sarah Jane Smith 🙁
That spider… 😯 😮 *runs away*
Gotta love the Third Doctor, defiantly my second favourite.
This is one I definitely wouldn’t want to watch…. 😛
I just started watching Doctor Who but i will first watch the modern Doctors before going to classic Who. But this certainly looks promising 😉
I actually don’t mind Dr Who. I’ve been watching since the Clone Wars started. The new series are definitely better than the old ones. David Tennant was the best Doctor though.
The new series is i=utter excrement and a wan, palid shadow of the real Dr Who of the 60s and 70s.
A great swansong for the greatest Doctor.
