The only two characters I know are the Joker and Harley Quinn 😛 It looks interesting though. Very different from all the other superhero shows out there.

It was such a mess. Batman vs Superman wasn’t good at all (I think the reviews were too harsh, so maybe like a 59%) but this was worse. I don’t even know how to feel because it was so messy. Like the movie just happened and I wanted it to end. The villain was weak. The characters were okay. Margot Robbie stole the show as Harley Quinn and Will Smith was also great as Deadshot. The Joker was terrible and he just popped up randomly and gah. it just lacked structure. Everything just happened.
And the final sequence had so much slo-mo it just looked terrible. adfaksldjfasdkfjasdkfljasd

Basically, the movie that was advertised in those awesome trailers is not the same movie that was actually released. I was reading some reviews and a bunch of them said this is a 14 year old boy’s fantasy at Hot Topic (the store). it’s true.

I really hoped/thought this might have potential, but at the same time I can’t say I’m surprised…Just another messy DC movie. Hopefully WW changes that.

Somehow I knew it’d just be one, large Hot-Topic commercial ;P

Which is disappointing… but DC/WB is making it very hard to trust them with a movie.

Yeah. When I saw the reviews, I was like “it can’t possibly be THAT bad” but it just. it was. Maybe not a 29% like on Rotten Tomatoes but no more than 50%.

Like. If they did a Harley Quinn movie for her ALONE it would’ve been so much better than this. Or a Deadshot film. but no.

i am praying for Wonder Woman to fix all of this but I am losing hope. If Wonder Woman sucks, it’ll be so disappointing.

I don’t really have much faith that WW will fix anything. I just hope it’ll be a good movie on it’s own and I can just ignore the whole universe that it was supposed to be a part of.

Also have to say the one part about this movie I never was excited about was the Joker. He just looked dumb. All the tattoos and stuff…felt like a bad attempt at modernizing him which wasn’t needed.

Yeah, by now some higher-ups at WB must really be worried/frustrated and wondering what the hell they keep doing wrong.

Rotten Tomatoes doesnt give a score, the 29% is the % of critics that liked it… which isnt great.

I think what they did wrong was make DC subservient to WB’s movie division. The people who understand the comics don’t have any power to say “no, that’s wrong, that’s not how these characters should be”.

Yeah that’s pretty bad. 60% need to like it for it to be fresh. 75% to be certified fresh. Usually if a movie is in the 90s% I’ll like it so I’ll almost watch anything in the 90s. But it’s not fool proof. There’s plenty of rotten movies I like but if they’re in the 20s or 30s it’s pretty bad.

Yep, I think you’re right FB. Disney essentially let Kevin Feige and Marvel run their own show and they’re doing so much better.

The studio has meddled too much in the production of both. Disney has done a far better job of giving their studios individual freedom.

Exactly. With this movie especially, the execs were worried because of the negative reception that BvS got. So at first, Suicide Squad had a much darker tone which I think we saw with the very first trailer from a year ago. After BvS got released, people hated the dark tone so they did reshoots for a movie that was more fun. That’s the movie we saw with the Bohemian Rhapsody trailer. And they combined the two. And because of that, it was a mess.

Joker also weakened Harley Quinn’s character too. It was a disgusting form of “love” that was actually BETTER in the previous version of the film, but they changed it. But I won’t spoil.

Has the Joker/Harley thing ever really been healthy?

No, it’s never ever been healthy. How could it be? ?

Nope, but I guess there are bad ways to portray it. I heard that they did some flashbacks with her and Joker, but they never actually showed how she became crazy and obsessed. Then what’s the point of the flashbacks? It would have been cool to see Harley as a doctor and then she loses her mind.

You’re completely right. It was never healthy. And it should not be portrayed to be “cute”. But in the movie… ugh.
In the previous version of the film, they eventually give Harley her own agency. It sounded like SUCH a good scene but it was changed to make things more “romantic” —— meaning disgusting.

Zuma, no, they did show how she became crazy. No spoilers but they portrayed the backstory. And then what happens after is BAD. They should’ve just cut the Joker out completely.

I just saw it for the first time and well… I actually thought it wasn’t that bad. It was way better than Batman vs Superman, it’s funny how Harley Quinn and Deadshot are more likeable characters than Superman IMO… I just don’t like the current direction they’re going for Superman at the moment.

The plot was kinda weak, the villain wasn’t really set up and didn’t have a great motive but the characters I thought were very well portrayed and I knew pretty much all of them before going into the movie. Amanda Waller was portrayed perfectly, Harley and Deadshot while they had a few unique spins on them they were still great, Robbie and Smith did excellent.

The Joker is sort of another story, it wasn’t a bad portrayal of Joker IMO but the Joker shouldn’t be this full on Gangster either and I think they tried to make him as abusive as possible without pushing this to an R rated movie. But honestly Suicice Squad SHOULD be an R Rated movie, like with Marvel and Deadpool.

Anyways I think I’d give the movie a 7/10, I personally enjoyed it quite a bit.

It does however make sense why they had Joker set up so much in this movie. I am 90% certain that Joker will be in the 2018 The Batman movie, I doubt they will do an origin story for Batman since he’s going to be well set up with Justice League this year. Even though it seems Deathstroke will be the main villain.

And Harley Quinn should appear in the Gotham City Sirens movie along with Poison Ivy and Catwoman.

Though how will I ever take the guy that plays in Magic Mike and hosted the NHL awards seriously as Deathstroke, one of the most badass DC characters…

Every Difference in Suicide Squad’s Extended Cut

I watched the extended cut though which seems to add in a few moments, ones good for Joker and Quinn
