Yeah it really isnt that perky and bright. It seems like its starting to get on a darker tone.

    Concept art from season 2
Those A – wings or predecessors to the A wings look pretty cool.. A bit wide imo but it’s okay. Also looks like there might be a new “Rebellion” leader figure.. And there’s supposed to be some “Phoenix Squad” which could be interesting I think they pilot the A wings

There’s another one of a Rebel capital ship but I couldn’t find the link.. That might be like their main ship base it looks like those medical frigates from TCW

Dang, that picture that Zuma posted with all of those Ahsoka character model’s really makes me miss The Clone Wars animation even more. Rebels is pretty dull in comparison.

Anyway, good finale for what it was but I’m sick of people acting like it’s just as good as TCW, it’s not. I’m not saying Rebels is bad, it’s just NOT in the same league as TCW. But if you put them in the same field, The Clone Wars wins, hands down. Characters, Visuals, Music, Acting were all better. I always seem to get the urge to press the mute button when Sabine starts talking. I’m sorry, but Tiya Sircar is awful.

One more thing: I hated how underused the Inquisitor was. Yeah, he fought Kanan and Ezra a few times but I really would have liked to have learned more about him and who he was prior to Order 66. Oh well.

Agreed, Rebels is NOT TCW, but it’s also not terrible.

Yeah overall most of the character could use some more background info.

I find it as enjoyable to watch as TCW sometimes more as I feel this show can pull off childish episodes much better.

That’s exactly why it’s not as good when you put them in the same league, it’s much more dumbed down in comparison to TCW.

Not really TCW had a lot of half ass episodes or dumbed down child ones that didn’t fit in that well.

It also had a ton of emotional and thought provoking episodes that proved much more enjoyable than the kiddy programming coming out of Rebels. It’s actually kind of sad how the ambitious risks The Clone Wars took and the dynamic storytelling we got from that show is nowhere to be seen in Rebels. I prefer TCW mainly because I don’t want to have to dumb myself down when I watch Rebels because they’re too afraid to take the same risks.

They seem to be going in that direction though. TCW season 1 was worse than Rebels season 1 and tbh I can’t even stand to go back and watch the first season of TCW anymore.

Give it some more time Disney sees it as a success and I think the budget will be increased for Rebels now since they also have renewals for a 3rd season.

And I find every episode of Rebels enjoyable to watch.

Same here what I’ve seen of Rebels is bland compared to TCW and the lack of budget obviously and no GL they are not pushing the envelope especially animation wise. Still think the New Coke Classic Coke analogy works.

Only watched Spark of Rebellion myself and with all the OT characters and guest stars that have shown up since, add to that the series’ original antagonist being killed off (after ONE season) and replaced by Vader and now Ahsoka being brought in you have to wonder if the execs had doubts and are just playing it safe to make it seem like the show is better than it is/would be otherwise.

The OT characters are fine almost all the appearances are good what annoys me is the amount of outside people who don’t really watch the show criticize it so much (no offence) but it’s pretty annoying.

But you also complain about the people who DO watch it and then criticise it. So basically it’s any criticism at all that you have a problem with.

Not really only when it’s people constantly comparing it to TCW and stuff which it’s not meant to be TCW 2.0.

It’s really hard not to compare it when they bring in a leading character from TCW (Ahsoka). Newan, I watched all of Season one and, in comparison to TCW, it was just dull and unoriginal. If Filoni didn’t want Rebels to be attacked so harshly, he should have made it more original. Ironically, I thought Greg Weisman did better work on Young Justice than Rebels. 😆

I guess but it remains to be seen how important Ahsoka will be. Id like her to have a lead role but I doubt she will.

Personally the OT characters are really good so far though.

DF already said she’ll basically be a recurring character.

Probably be in like 5 or 6 episodes then for the entire season I just hope they don’t have these two week gaps sometimes and maybe more episodes in the season though I expect less since they may not do a Spark of Rebellion thing.

I expect more than that since the season seems to be 22 or maybe even 26 episodes.

Hi everyone. It’s been a while. Persoanally I actually found Rebels quite enjoyable. Although it will never be as good as the Clone Wars was it still does the job well. The OT characters were presented in a fairly good way and the main rebel group wasn’t to bad. By including Ahsoka in at the end I feel that the second season really does have some potential now. Let’s just hope that they make Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader as good as they made Tarkin next season. While i would give the Clone Wars an overall 9.5/10 rating on the Star Wars charts I would give rebels a well deserved 7.5/10 as it is well beyond average. This is just my honest opinion of the show so far. What do you guys think?

Yes something about almost double the episodes. I think I read 26 somewhere.

Overall I liked it. I still have trouble with some of the main characters. Zeb and Sabine a bit and I still find Ezra a bit annoying. Hera and Kanan, I like, but Hera should get more stuff to do. Chopper was a bit too much in the beginning but he started coming around in the 2nd half especially towards the end.
I’m interested in seeing where they’re going to go in season 2 with Ahsoka and Vader. Vader can’t just be a weekly threat they constantly escape from and from interviews it seems like DF is aware of that, so they’ll have to do something different with him.

Id give Rebels season 1 probably a 9/10 maybe 8.5 but it was enjoyable and different. TCWS as a whole is hard to give above a 9 and that’s even stretching it almost cause there was so many episodes I just didn’t find up to par or that enjoyable.

Well honestly I don’t think that The Clone Wars and Rebels can even be that comparable as they are completely different shows based in different time eras. Like really other than Ahsoka there really arnt many connections with The Clone Wars.

On an enjoyable scale yeah it was pretty good

    But I’m not comparing them
