Didn’t the Death Star blow up the Medical Frigate in episode 6??

But what I mean, it would be risky for the Death Star to blow up the fleet, it would risk compromising the shield if the ship debris fell into it like the star destroyers did.

It definitely blew up some ship.

Did the DS shoot before or after the shields were destroyed?

Thats the DS2 that fires at ships, it has a different laser arrangement that increases its accuracy.

The DS shot after the shield gate was taken down.

Oh okay didn’t know the laser was different so I just assumed DS1 could shoot cruisers too.

Fairly certain DS2 also destroyed the medical Frigate which was a Nebulon

I just watched Angry Joes spoiler review…

A few things they pointed out but Rouge One fills in the Death Star question quite well. Why did it take so long to build? And well it really didn’t take so long, they had most of it already built, it was just the laser aspect they couldn’t figure out, which is why Galen had too come back. That last part they add on during the film just took them a long time.

Which makes sense as too why the second Death Star was really quick since they had that solved.

And I really liked the X-Wing pilots in this film, they where all mid age white guys with mustaches, quite classic lol. I noticed that when I was watching that THESE where real X-Wing pilots that I remember.

did u legit just say that?

Holy shit. I just came back from it and I am a wreck. That was so entertaining and wild and I am in love. All the characters were fleshed out and so interesting and I just adore how all the main rebels were finally POC and Jyn Erso was just amazing. The actor who played Krennic did an amazing job as well. I am in love. I can watch this forever and never get bored. wowowowowowowow.

Yeah I really liked the X-Wing pilots lol, they made them look like they where the ANH ones, the old 70s look. Tbh I thought it was a nice touch.

First time I saw Blue Leader I’m like… wow that looks a lot like Biggs and some of the others in the ANH briefing, it fit quite well

To be honest, I think one of the scariest scenes in any Star Wars movie ever was Vader fighting the rebels.

Did anyone hear how Chirrut mentioned the Whills? And he’s a guardian of the Whills?

Well Star Wars movies are not really supposed to be scary. But Vaders was just pretty badass, probably my favorite scene in the movie

Well since they reused actual ANH footage it’s no wonder they looked like the ANH crew.
But there were also other pilots. Women, black people, asian people..

Yup heard that part. They guarded the temple of the crystals or something like that.

SW isn’t a scary series but it can have scary moments.
He was certainly menacing in that moment. Up there with some of the darker moments in tje movies.
But the whole movie was the most violent if not darkest SW movie ever. Only ones coming close would be ROTS or ESB. ESB and ROTSwas more dark from a psychological POV. Same with RoTS to some degree. R1 is definitely the most violent. People died left and right. Good guys and bad guys. Stormtroopers weren’t the awful shots they will be later on.

They had a lot of pilots that fit the ANH look, but also sprinkled in a few women, asian people, and an african american guy. No aliens piloting, just a few gunning Uwings and on the ground. Saw’s group had a lot of Aliens.

I just really liked the ANH look of most of them, but only a couple where reused footage, they had a bunch of newer guys that fit the ANH style

My store manager gave me a movie gift cards as it yesterday. Much better then TFA.

Best part was Mrs MD who’s not a fan saying isn’t he the guy who takes the baby girl to keep her safe. When Bail appeared on screen. LOL

    The Tarkin stuff was amazing.

The shout outs and callbacks made sense unlike TFA which seemed like it was all done just to get the nostalgic reaction.

This was by far the most diverse SW movie.

I agree! There was some nostalgia but not enough to make this feel like pandering. It worked.

One of the most interesting aspects of this film was Saw. I hated Saw in TCW, he was annoying and uninteresting but here, he was completely different and his mad side was really interesting.

this whole movie just worked. and i still can’t believe they’re all dead.

That was one of the things I liked is that they all died well I didn’t like they died but it was a twist on the usual “A team of people start out and get picked off until the hero is left” it was a change that they all sacrificed themselves.

I also like that they didn’t throw in the clichéd love story.

The Vader scene was just awesome.

I caught the Whills reference loved that always remember the Journal of the Whills from the prologue in the Star Wars book I got in 77

The lack of a romance was another highlight. Obviously there was some tension between Jyn and Cassian, but I don’t think it was romantic, just a human bond between two people stuck facing death together. I thought they’d go the expected route and make the two kiss eventually, either in the elevator or on the beach, but I’m really glad it didn’t happen.

Just watched it again and the guy next to Tarkin ask if they should target the ships. So to me that sounds like they could have done it.

Not with the super laser, with the turbolaser batteries. The first Death Star does not have the capability to do that. Its recharge time would take too long, all the ships could jump by the time it fires. Its surface is littered with gun towers.
