I think a lot of fans expected it to happen but it’s finally confirmed now. I hope they cast Ewan again.

Just curious what @mindless-droid and @firebird think of this movie? I know you guys haven’t been huge supporters of Disney Star Wars especially the sequels but would a Obi-Wan spinoff interest you?

It’s pretty much the first prequel related content Disney has made besides the release of the TCW bonus content

Something following ObiWan is more interesting than Han Solo, and even better, they can easily have one of the ObiWan actors in the film! One of the best parts of the prequels! And I think it’d be likely to at least hear from Quigon.

ROTS was 12 years ago, likely 15 years ago when this movie comes out since I expect its release in 2020. If they want to do a movie in between the trilogies, Ewan is the perfect age really.

I was actually hoping Rebels would sort of change Obi-Wan a but and make him look more like the Ewan ROTS and less like the old Alec Guinness, by the time of ANH Kenobi is only in his mid 50s so he really shouldn’t be that old anyways.

They could defintley have Liam Neeson in the movie just as a voice like for Yoda in TCW.

I wonder if he could still pull off the younger TPM Kenobi at this point, if they wanted to do a flashback to him training or something

Yeah, I think he could. CG de-aging is very good right now too, in case he needed it, but makeup might work.

Official excuse for extreme aging is the stress Tatooine’s environment puts on humans. Beru and Owen also look aweful compared to what they were in ROTS.

Haha, I’m actually interested for this movie tbh. The Han Solo one is kinda meh, I feel like it isn’t needed and I just can’t see anyone but Harrison being Han.

But Obi-Wan has potential because Ewan is great in the role and he’s still prime age to play the character.

Not interested either. I’m bitter and always will be. They can pump out stuff left and right but couldn’t finish something as good as TCW. I also feel it’s just too much canon being old school SW isn’t special any more when there is a release every year plus all the comics novels crappy two minute animated shorts and merchandising Can you say Porg withou saying profit so yeah don’t care.

I feel George should get partial blame for not finishing TCW, in all honesty it was his creation I really just don’t see why he had to sell Star Wars when he did, he could have easily waited 2-3 years to finish TCW and then sell. Or at the very least he could have forced Disney to finish the show as a condition of selling, he sold for a fairly low price of 4.05 billion, Disney is going to make triple that by 2020 so it’s not an unreasonable request.

He said he didn’t expect Disney to stop the production but I think it’s pretty foolish if he didn’t even consider the possibility.
