Speaking of histories… do you guys watch the House histories by comicbookgirl19? I watched them all today and they’re so good.

Yes I love those. She’s really good at it.
She also made episode reviews for last season.

Ellaria Sand’s actress Indira Varma will voice one of the main characters, a mage companion, Vivienne, in Dragon Age: Inquisition.
I guess that’s the “Game of Thrones star” people rumored to be part of DA:I. Many people suggested it to be Gwen Christie, but it now seems that she’s not in it.

I’ve watched all 4 seasons and I’m reading A Storm of Swords part 1 at the moment. Personally I wish that the show wouldn’t verge of the original story the books have sometimes. The show is still awesome and I love it but the changes slightly annoy me. Anyone else feel the same.

Some changes can be odd, but I like some other ones. But yes, sometimes they kill off a character in the show who’s still alive in the books and it doesn’t feel right.

Pyat Pree is one of those characters that they should not have killed off in the show. He could have been a really good villain for Daenerys later on in the series.

Everything involving the Tower of the Undying was A LOT better in the book. All those visions!

Yeah a lot of changes are unnecessary but I guess they do it to make it fit TV a little more.
At least they haven’t made any major changes that have changed a whole storyline. Not yet at least.

Well, I suppose this is okay… When they left off Bran’s story, with them arriving at the tree, they were already into book 5 with that story. So showing him in Season 5 might take away much of the content for him in Season 6, if GRRM doesn’t finish the books.. IDK. I suppose this means no other characters will interact with Bran anymore and he won’t come back.

Apparently they’ve cut out the Griffs and the Greyjoys as well?

According to the comments… Jaime heading to the Riverlands has been cut too, and he’s surely going to Dorne instead… which is no…

So basically they’ve cut everything -_-
Griff, Arianne, Greyjoy and changed Jaime’s to something that doesn’t make a lot of sense.
Honestly, I’m not that excited for this season right now. Much more excited for the books.

Maybe the Griffs and the Greyjoys will appear in later seasons… but why is Jaime going to Dorne?

    Yeah, maybe..

    Because the creators are stupid…

As they get more and more successful, they get bolder with the changes. Happened with PJ and The Hobbit.

Yes and I don’t like it 😐 I’m not against changes and I understand it’s necessary some times, but things like sending Jaime to Dorne just feels like change for the sake of change not for the sake of the story.

I agree. I like some changes (especially Brienne vs the Hound) but I don’t see how Jaime going to Dorne will fit. I liked his visit to the Riverlands because we got to see more of the aftermath of the Red Wedding.

And rumor is that he will fight Obara which is ridiculous. He doesn’t have a chance against her. Not to mention that it would create huge problems with the Lannister-Martell relations.

Yeah, and it’ll ruin Doran’s plans. Well, not ruin, but he’s got plans and he can’t have a fight with the Lannisters right away. And if he fights her… one of them is going to die… Obara would beat him, but he can’t die yet.

Worst case scenario, in 20 years while you reread the books you know you have the first 3 books as a TV show and you just ignore everything from season 5 😛

I just hope the changes they make will make sense. That’s almost the most important. If they do something that ends in the same place in a way that makes sense then it could be okay.

Yeah, hopefully it all works out… none of the changes in the past have been too bad.

And I really liked some of them… like Shae being Sansa’s maid and such.

Yeah that was fine. But sometimes I think they missed some of the little things like Jaime confessing to Tyrion which is what made him go kill Tywin.

True. But only book-readers would’ve gotten that. I don’t think any viewer would’ve really remembered Tysha… (I mean, back when I watched the finale I probably wouldn’t have either) It’s only in the books where he constantly mentions her.

Yeah probably, but other times I think they just underestimate the audience and what they can keep track of.

Just because he’s not paying enough attention then 😛
Even us book readers have had to pay attention when reading and check the map more than one 😉

I think it’s time to put some life back into this thread. So, S5!

Is it true that nobody ever crosses the sea BACK to Westeros?
