Well they did give us fair warning so I wasn’t massively surprised. It was good ending for her. She’d become more and more reckless and she was never going to leave quietly, so a good death was fitting.

WHAT THE HECK WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT WHAT

I knew Clara was going to die this season, so much foreshadowing, but not in this episode?!!? I WASN’T READY. It was a really, really, sweet death and I loved it… but gah. 😥 😥 😥

I wish the death had been more important, that she was saving more than just Rigsy, but still… oh gosh.

It looks like the Doctor will finish the season alone, but I wish Rigsy would be the companion now, at least for the rest of Series 9.

But we have to see Ashildr again. Who was the “they”? Dalek/Missy alliance?

My dad was watching it with me and he was shocked, too.

So Moffat says we will see Clara in some form again before Series 9 ends, I wonder how? http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/clara-oswalds-doctor-who-exit-6874832

I would say that I hope they don’t reverse her death. Clara has had too many almost-goodbyes. Series 7 when it looked like she died on Trenzalore, then the finale of Series 8 where it appeared she was saying goodbye to the Doctor, and now this. So if they bring her back and have her leave again she would have, like, 4 exits in total.
But I also want them to bring her back and have another sad exit for her. i love sad scenes.

    LOOK AT THE DESCRIPTION https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=47-RFzZutkc

“The Doctor faces the greatest challenge of his many lives – Pursued by the fearsome creature known only as the Veil, he must attempt the impossible. If he makes it through, Gallifrey is waiting…”

GALLIFREY IS WAITING. But what does that mean?! They have to at least end the season with some information on Gallifrey. So the box was designed to terrify the Doctor, but why, and by who? It does seem like a thing Missy would do, just for fun, but would the Daleks do the same? IDK. Unless it’s something deeper.

Could “they” be the Time Lords?

They can be, but why? The Doctor saved them. Why would they try to capture him and put him in a castle like that? If they wanted to communicate with him, they would have done it in a nicer way, I think.

The War Council did not seem very pleased with his plan in Day of the Doctor. The High Council is probably not overly enamoured with him either. And in Classic Doctor Who various Time Lords spend lots of time turning out to be corrupt, holding grudges, or placing The Doctor on trial.

Fair enough, but he still saved them, and they did grant him more lives in The Time Of The Doctor. So they’re not too mad at him. 😛

They may have granted him more lives because they wanted to use him to free Gallifrey from the pocket universe, but not because they forgive him for sticking them there in the first place. Just a thought.

Perhaps. I do hope it has something to do with the Time Lords, though. It’s getting annoying that we aren’t hearing of them at all two seasons after saving them.
Missy is probably key to this, too. She survived the fight with Rassilon and got out whereas no other Time Lord could.
