Actually I expect five DLC packs as its DICE and they did that for Battlefield 3 and 4.

sometimes its good… othertimes no. This game should have just as much content or more content than the previous installments before DLC is taken into account. If not, they are cheating us.

Id doubt it. It would take a lot more effort to make the kind of maps they will probably have in mind given it will be similar to battlefield.

Just a cinematic trailer really Id expect actual gameplay at E3. But I’m getting excited I can’t wait to play with 5 or 6 other friends also buying this game in Xbox 🙂

IGN says they did see PS4 game footage and it looked pretty much the same as that.

    What people are complaining about:
    •No Campaign
    •No Space
    •4 planets to start
    •DLC already planned for Jakku
•No Clone Wars (yet, i assume)

    My reaction to complaints:
•Battlefront never had special campaign, it was just the multiplayer maps with added goals and some narration.
There WILL be solo missions of sorts, just not a “campaign.”
•Space was always kinda iffy, some like it, some dont. While ground-to-space would be nice, it would be difficult to implement in a GOOD way.
•4 planets confirmed… But EA has hinted multiple maps per planet. So its probably more like 8-12 maps initially.
•Jakku… Well duh it has to be DLC it is movie related, a movie that comes out a full month after the game! And its free so whats it matter?
•No Clone Wars… Yeah. This point is bad 😮 But i expect it in DLC or a sequel form.

    My Pros
    •looks great
    •heros confirmed
•land-air… Something BF2 was missing (ie, no gunships on Geonosis…) and lets be honest, bombing people is more fun than bombing stuff in space mode.
•Sullust, new planet to fight on!
•looks to be custom weapons, accessories, and species for rebels.
    •1st and 3rd person view
    •play with the Falcon

    cons:
    •no space yet (but… Meh)
    •no clone wars yet
•planet variety is low for now

    Hopes:
•not just first, but next few DLC possibly free please? After that they can charge but they should know we need more maps and planets.

    What i want to know:
    •full list of vehicles
    •official map count
•Modes, i reads something about a “walker assault” mode, would like to know others

I agree with what you said for the most part Chex.

IGN speculates that the missions will be like Modern Warfare 2 spec ops which im fine with I just hope there’s a dozen or so of those missions and they add more with DLC later. Battlefront Campaign was nothing special at all and was just random objectives like retrieve something or kill enemies. And actually Battlefront one campaign was just all movie stuff.

Space combat wasn’t that good in Battlefront either in fact the first one did not have it but they had ground to air combat on some maps like Bespin and Geonosis actually. I prefer that then space combat and besides nobody even played that on multiplayer.

That’s what I said there’s no way it will only be four maps. Planets does not mean maps. Tatooine alone will probably have one in like Mos Eisley, Desert (vehicle warfare), and probably one in those canyons like in the trailer but Id imagine that would be a map for dog fighting they said there was a mode like that.

I’m fine with the amount of planets more will be added later for sure. Like I said DICE will probably pump out 4-5 DLC and one of them will for sure have at least some prequel content no way it can’t. Yavin IV has to be in there though I think that will be a given.

And I don’t see the complaining with wanting a bunch of prequel maps. Why actually do we want all the same maps a third time? I like that they have Sullust and the entirely new planet from episode 7. OT does not have that many planets but the ones they do have offer room for very large scale battles. The only prequel map with that same effect really is Geonosis.

Honestly it looks like a mix of Halo and Battlefield which is good imo but we will probably see real gameplay soon at E3.

Yeah I think there will be customization and unlocks for sure but I don’t think to the same extent as Battlefield maybe more like Halo 4.

Also no Battlelog at all for this game 🙂 no annoying popup interface or battle packs I assume that give dumb Battlelog emblems or dog tag crap.

Walker Assault = Equivalent to Tank Superiority from BF3

Dogfight mode = Air Superiority from BF4 and 3

    Both cool.

Also the game is 20 vs 20 I thought they would have more but I think I’m fine with it. Id imagine this will either have close quarters maps like Mos Eisley or biger maps with lots of vehicle warfare. Battlefield 4 always had these big maps and sometimes little vehicles so you would be walking around a lot even with 32v32 it sucked sometimes. I think they will find a way to make it much more action paced

    http://starwars.ea.com/starwars/battlefront/news/jakku-pre-order-offer

People who preorder get the new planet on December 1st instead of 8th. And it’s (story wise) before TFA.

Also there will be two maps on Jakku. Meaning Id imagine almost every other planet will have at least two maybe three on Tatooine.

Its confirmed by a tweet by the developer, i think he said over two maps per planet. And more than just 8 maps (which is 2 per planet) so i might say it varies between 2-4 per planet. Like with Tatooine you can have Mos Eisley, Jabba’s palace, and a level out in desert. Jakku is 2 maps I think.

Im hoping for Bespin and a few others will be added. Bespin in the first was fun, and they could implent the air battle really well with it.

Well than thats 10 maps at minimum since Jakku only comes out two weeks later Id assume it wasn’t their choice though but that of the upper brass due to the movie connection. Id imagine 12 counting Jakku. Jakku is confirmed to have 2.

Also people who saw some gameplay said there’s something about kill streaks or a nemesis system sounds interesting I doubt they will go full out with COD kill streaks perhaps something like halo 4 with the ordnance though.

I been thinking it would be cool to have a bot system like Black ops had where there’s the main leveling system online but then they had combat training which is an offline leveling system of the same thing and you could still have friends it would be cool to have that.

I want Yavin IV, Geonosis and Bespin would be cool all other maps I think I would want on entirely new planets never seen in Battlefield before

BF2 had a subtle kill streak system, the award weapons.

    And Clone Wars locations…

Should add Kuat or Kessel or Correlia or even Lothal. And Coruscant, we havent gotten an actual coruscant, just Jedi Temple.

That’s true but it wasn’t all that flashy. The Battlefronts on PSP actually had real customization and stuff.

They may add clone wars worlds but I don’t think they will have clones vs droids at any time. Droids are not that amazing anyways. There isn’t many Clone Wars worlds that stand out that Id want though maybe like Umbara or Geonosis again.

Well Id imagine there will be 4 or 5 paid DLC like I said they will probably have a season pass or whatever where you can get early access as like a preorder to every DLC.

Normally a shooter DLC has four maps so four map packs that would probably be 8 planets (2 maps per) coming later on if they go that way. EA usually adds new game modes, weapons and vehicles as well in there DLC for battlefield.

Id want more spec ops missions as they release DLC and maybe just maybe could they add Galactic conquest in like the last DLC when there’s enough planets. I don’t care for space maps

Clone wars worlds that could be cool are Kashyyyk, Felucia, Utapau, and Umbara. Mygeeto and Cato Neomodia would be good worlds for aerial emphasis, they could put a star cruiser in orbit near the map for one team to start on, and it would be kinda like space, but better IMO.

Hate Felucia it’s just annoying to many colourful weird plants in the way. Utapau is a bit close quarters so I don’t think it’s a first choice.

The other three you mentioned are all higher possibilities for a good map. Id imagine there will be at least two more Force Awakens planets though.

Also I read that the maps are going to be a bit sandbox oriented in the fact that the maps will have some good exploration aspects to them so I expect some big maps. In the trailer when Boba Fett is on Tatooine he’s on a cliff but in the background there’s a desert with fighting looks pretty interesting if that’s and idea for a map

    That Sullust map looked huge.

Yeah I know Felucia is a bit much sometimes. I liked staying on that top command post in that map.

Utapau, If done well, Can work. They could make it multiple levels, flying in and out of the sinkholes would be interesting. they can have fighting on surface too, giving both close quarter and open combat to the map. I see concern but if done right it would be a good map…. And I like close sometimes

I don’t mind close quarters but BF2 kind of focused on that. Honestly I didn’t find the bigger maps like Hoth really fun to play.

It seems they’re putting an emphasis on vehicle warfare and having epic encounters. I been hearing some people speculate about the approach for playing Empire could be a lot different then Rebels. Empire is stronger so they would have vehicles and stuff but Rebels would rely more of guerrilla warfare and having to stick together to take down those vehicles.

Im curious to see whats being cooked up for rebel ground vehicles, theres gotta be a tank.

Probably just some light tanks but I don’t think they will have as many vehicles as the Empire. I think they will play different

Yeah I know that, they always did have to play as underdog when an ATAT was on map.

But they must have some repulsor tank or something. Im just wondering if it will be one like in BF, one like BF2, or they will bring in some other model for a tank we havent used before. They couldve also made them have an AAT or something from the clone wars era, from the movies, that there was a physical model of so they could use the same creation process as they did with the game’s other vehicles.

I think the Rebels may more rely on air instead of ground. We saw them call in an air strike to deal with the AT AT. (That would have been effective on Hoth…)

But they need to have some kind of repulsed tank maybe something like what Hondo had.
